St Margaret's Chapel is one of my favourite places in Edinburgh Castle. This simple Norman chapel is the oldest surviving building in Edinburgh, dating back to the early 12th century. Built by King David I, it was dedicated to his mother, Queen Margaret, who was later canonized as Saint Margaret of Scotland.
