Alabama football commit EJ Crowell makes good on his promise, named Mr. Football
The Jackson running back and University of Alabama signee, earned the right to say he's the best player in the 2025 football season after rushing for 2,632 yards and 35 rushing touchdowns. In the AHSAA Class 4A title game, Crowell broke a 25-year-long record for most rushing yards in a Class 4A title game with 304 yards and five scores.
The Alabama Sports Writers Association crowned Crowell the 44th winner of the prestigious award at the annual Player of the Year banquet sponsored by ALFA Insurance and the Alabama High School Athletic Directors and Coaches Association. The event was held at the Renaissance Montgomery Hotel & Spa.
Alabama football's 2026 roster is still coming together. But the Crimson Tide does have a clearer picture of who will take the field Saturday, Sept. 5 against East Carolina.
Crowell finished his final high school season with 2,632 rushing yards and 35 touchdowns, averaging 12.6 yards per carry.
